And bang, the last few days' work in the year went past in an undulating, almost civilised manner. No major deadlines, no last minute switches (OK, maybe one), everything on plan for winding down into full earthbound mode. No more commute for nigh on 3 weeks. I feel oddly organised this year, to the point of maturity. I don't know if I should be worried about that.
The break from social media is doing me some good. I haven't actually been on the Internet much at all, rather relatedly, but do "pop in" from time to time. I'm reading Moby Dick, sorting out stuff for the post-solstice season known as "Christmas" to its friends, and watching Celebrity Juice repeats.
Actually, I'm tempted to pay for a Flickr Pro account again. The slightly wrenching email from the CEO ("sign up or Flickr will die") was bizarrely, refreshingly honest. It's still fairly cheap, and cheaper with a bit of a discount. As with all these things, the question is: what would I use it for? To be truthful, I'm looking for new ways of engaging with photography online. Maybe Flickr can offer something there. I'll look into it. Anyone else out there on the Pro plan, or thinking of it?
